Happy Groundhog Day!

Harold Ramis’ Groundhog Day is one of my favorite comedies of all time. The films stars Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. Both give surprisingly soulful comic performances and are surrounded by a hilarious supporting cast including Stephen Tobolowsky, Chris Elliot, Angela Paton, Brian Doyle-Murray, and Rick Ducommun, among others. This classic film is a good reminder to live in the present for those of us who may tend toward living in the past by showing us “what you do with eternity” as we watch Bill Murray deal with the highs and lows of an eternal life that keeps skipping and starting over. This is the original Live, Die, Repeat.

MSC Groundhog Day BannerIf you haven’t seen it, what better opportunity to correct that grievous sin against the Gods of comedy than to watch it on it’s very namesake. If you have seen it, you know as well as I do that it is time to watch it again. Wondering if and where you can get it? According to canistream.it, Groundhog Day is streaming for a $2.99 digital rental on Google Play, Vudu, and YouTube.

This Groundhog Day, I thought it would be fun and somewhat fitting with the themes of the film to share with you this article, written about the film this time last year by Ryan Gilbey for The Guardian (credit to Rachel for the recommendation): Continue reading

MSC Night Moves PosterGuys! Episode 43 of Movie Stream Cast almost didn’t happen. The details will be unfolded in a Serial-like mystery and, in the end, the listeners will have to judge whether this episode did indeed “happen” or not. This time, Josh is (mostly) joined by the third in our exciting line-up of new co-hosts, Cody Clark, to discuss Kelly Reichardt’s character-based, eco-terrorisim dramatic thriller, Night Moves–which is streaming for a subscription on Amazon Prime and for a $3.99 digital rental on iTunes, Google Play, and S.E.N.
